Why is my website not showing on Google?
One search tells you which case you are in. Type site:yourdomain.com into Google. No pages means Google has not indexed you yet. Pages listed means you are indexed and outranked.

Indexing
Google reads the page and stores it. It gets stuck on a noindex tag, or a page Google judges low in quality.

Serving
Google shows the pages it finds most relevant to each search. This is ranking.

What Search Console says, what it means, and the fix
Open Search Console, then Indexing, then Pages. Each reason below is Google's own label.

After the fix, click Validate fix in the same report. Google says validation usually takes up to two weeks, and it emails you the result.

Add Search Console
Sign in to Google Search Console and verify you own the site.

Inspect the page
Paste the page address into the search bar at the top. Search Console shows its status.

Request indexing
Click Request indexing. There is a daily limit, so start with your most important pages.

Submit a sitemap
For many pages, add your sitemap in the Sitemaps report. Google calls a sitemap a hint.

Give it time
Google says indexing typically takes a day or so, and can take up to a week or two.

Why is my website not ranking on Google?
Indexing puts your page in the race. Ranking decides where it finishes. If a site: search lists your page, Google has it, and other pages answer the search better today.
Google says it doesn't accept payment to crawl a site more frequently, or rank it higher.
So page one comes from the work. Write a page that answers what your customer types, in their words. Then earn links from other sites. Google also says a site nobody links to is easy to miss.

Why is my website not showing on Google?
Type site:yourdomain.com into Google. If nothing comes up, Google has not indexed the site yet. Google says a new site can take a few weeks to be noticed, and a site with no links from other sites is easy to miss. Add the site to Search Console and submit a sitemap. If your pages do come up, the site is indexed and the question is ranking.
