How to get solar leads in Malaysia without door knocking

Before a homeowner calls, they look you up in three places. Google Maps, an AI answer and SEDA's installer list. Show up well in all three and the calls start with you.

Written for solar installer owners. Every scheme rule below was read on SEDA's and the Energy Commission's own pages on 30 September 2026.

What your buyer is buying under

Solar ATAP, SELCO and the end of NEM 3.0

Your buyer asks about the scheme first. Answer it on your own pages, in these words.

SchemeWho it is forThe rule that matters to a buyer
Solar ATAPHomes and businesses on TNB, from 1 January 2026Homes up to 5 kW single phase or 15 kW three phase. Businesses up to 100% of maximum demand, capped at 1,000 kW. Excess energy offsets the bill for 10 years
NEM 3.0The scheme before ATAPIts quota offer ran until 30 June 2025. ATAP is for accounts outside NEM and SELCO
SELCOBusinesses using solar power on siteEnergy Commission guideline for Peninsular Malaysia, June 2026 edition, issued 24 July 2026
The line that matters most to you. SEDA's ATAP page says applicants shall appoint SEDA Malaysia Registered PV Service Provider (RPVSP) for Solar ATAP application submission. Every ATAP job goes through a registered installer, so buyers have one official list to check.

The listing you already pay for

SEDA's registered PV service provider list

SEDA publishes a searchable directory of registered installers. A buyer can look you up there before they sign.

What a buyer sees on your entryWhat to do
Company name and category: Domestic, Commercial, Industrial or AgricultureTick every category you really serve
Phone, website and contact personUse the same name, phone and website as your Google profile
Office address, city and stateMatch your signboard and your Maps pin
Description of products and servicesWrite what you install, the system sizes and the towns you cover
Qualified persons and their certificatesKeep them current each year

What it costs. SEDA's terms set registration at RM 3,000, valid until 31 December of the year it is approved. Updating your details costs RM 200. Listing a branch costs RM 300.

SEDA adds that the directory only serves as a listing of contact information. So the entry gets you checked. Your reviews and your pages get you chosen.

Before you buy solar leads. Ask the seller how each person agreed to be contacted, and whether the same lead goes to other installers. Under section 8 of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, data may be shared only for the purpose agreed at collection. Otherwise the person must consent.

Factories, shops and offices

How to get commercial solar leads

A business buys under Solar ATAP, up to 100% of its maximum demand and 1,000 kW. Or it buys under SELCO, for power used on site.

A factory owner asks one thing first: what have you built at our size? Answer it on one page per job. Give the size in kWp, the scheme, the town and a photo of the roof.

That page does three jobs. The buyer reads it. Google indexes it. The AI can quote it when someone asks for a commercial solar installer in your state.

Type best solar installer in and your town into ChatGPT and Google. Write down who is named, with the date.

Google's words on reviews: More reviews and positive ratings can help your business's local ranking. Google Business Profile Help, read 30 September 2026.

Where we fit

Step 6, every month, done for you

Each month we ask ChatGPT, Google and the other engines for a solar installer in your city. We also ask the questions your buyers type. We write down who they name, dated.

Then we make one fix a month to your listings or pages, and show you the result, misses included. Google's own words: There's no way to request or pay for a better local ranking on Google. So we promise the work, and we show the answers.

The fee is RM 1,200 a month, and we take one solar installer per city. Compare it with 16 Malaysian agencies' prices. See how it works for solar installers.
